Urban
reinvention: from shipping terminal to waterfront park in Oakland
Township Commons is part of the latest redevelopment of Oakland’s historic waterfront, with views of the neighboring city of San Francisco, located directly across the bay. The 3-acre site that was designated for the new public park was almost entirely occupied by a municipal shipping terminal. When landscape architects Liz Enwiller and Sarah Kuehl first walked through the rare emblem of Oakland’s long history as a port town, they were fascinated by the beautiful steel construction. Maybe there was a way to embody the spirit of
the terminal in the park’s design?

Our new APRIL picnic table complements and completes the existing APRIL series. The picnic table has many different applications and fits perfectly in busy settings. It is supplied free-standing as standard and is easy to place on a range of different surfaces, but it can also be bolted in position if necessary. One model is also adapted for wheelchair users. And as for all our products, APRIL picnic table comes with lifetime guarantee against rust and in 200 RAL
colours for powder coating – to either stand out or blend in!

September 22 and World Car Free Day is right around the corner. A day that aims to encourage people to give up their cars for a day, highlighting the numerous benefits like reduced air pollution as well as walking and cycling in a safer environment. But what if we on the regular had less cars and more parks? Our PARKLETS 2.0 is a modular furniture system that turns parking spaces into social and refreshing meeting places by providing more space for people
and plants!
