Another unusual year is coming to an end. We have a lot to look back on, but most of all we’re looking ahead and celebrating the fact that 2022 will be the year in which our new furniture factory, The Plus, will open.
But before the New Year begins, we have Christmas to look forward to. A time for reflection, gratitude, and solidarity. An occasion we want to use to encourage more companies to share a proportion of their profit. Every year, Vestre gives 10% to causes that support the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). And through the Piece of the Pie Chart initiative, we want to motivate more companies to do the same.
“We want to inspire companies to get involved and get them to see the benefits of
contributing to good causes,” explains Stefan Tjust, CEO at Vestre.
We know that if every Norwegian company gave a tenth of their profit, the total would match the Norwegian aid budget, not just once, but twice over. That says a lot about what we could achieve if more companies across the world did the same.
Share your cake
Major events are often celebrated with cake. Through Piece of the Pie Chart, we are encouraging companies to celebrate their profit with a cake where a piece is removed. The missing piece symbolizes the percentage you give to a cause that supports the UN SDGs.
A shared celebration
The UN SDGs include 17 goals and 169 targets, so companies can choose between a wide variety of areas where they can get involved and make a difference.
Vestre currently supports UNICEF and Doctors Without Borders. For us, the UN SDGs are the key to a better world. By giving away a piece of the ‘profit pie’, more companies can help nudge the world in a more sustainable direction. We hope you'll join in.
